"As anyone who has ever tried to lose weight well knows, joining a gym is only half the battle. After several previous unsuccessful weight loss attempts, I decided to do something different and sign up for some personal training sessions. As soon as I had my first session with my trainer, Obadiah A. Mshindi, I knew I’d made the right decision.
From warm-up stretches to cardio to crunches, Obadiah made personal training fun, and his ability to provide motivation when my energy waned was second to none. I’d had some experience with personal training in the past, but never before had I worked with a trainer who had such a great sense of when a client needed to be motivated, and what to say to motivate them. Encouraging me when I was halfway through a tough set of exercises, reminding me to breathe, counting my reps out loud with me and telling me I was close to being done, and most of all reminding me how I’d told him I wanted more than anything to be able to fit into my high school jeans – all these things kept me going in the beginning when the workouts were tough, when I might otherwise have quit without such positive reinforcement.
I had initially signed up for four sessions, but after seeing immediate results – I lost four lbs in the first week of training – I felt inspired enough to sign up for eight more. I ultimately had a total of 16 personal training sessions with Obadiah over a span of two months, and the results were impressive; my body weight dropped from 147.4 lbs to 128.5 and my body fat percentage decreased from 31.4 to 24.9. Needless to say, none of this success would have been possible without Obadiah’s help.
In addition to being a great motivator, Obadiah is also an excellent trainer. His knowledge of the different cardio and free weight machines in the gym is extensive, and he was more than happy to share it with me. He also taught me many different strength and conditioning exercises that he had personalized for me based on my specific fitness goals, and they were worlds better and more effective than the generic moves other trainers had given me in the past.
Last but not least, Obadiah truly embodied the term “personal trainer” by taking a personal interest in my progress and satisfaction with my workouts. He routinely spent extra time with me after our sessions to address concerns and questions I had about my diet, even helping me devise a food plan. He also helped me remove the guesswork from my workouts by going over what I should be doing on days we didn’t have training sessions, which was a huge factor in my success. He frequently came over to offer advice and encouragement when he saw me at the gym outside of our sessions. Having a trainer who I knew truly cared whether I lost the weight or not made it so much easier to do so.
As I prepare for my final training session with Obadiah tomorrow, I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the training he provided, and most importantly, I’m ecstatic about the results I’ve seen. I’m now three pounds away from my goal weight of 125, and I feel like a completely different person than I was when I walked into that first session just over two months ago. I’m happier, healthier, more fit and secure in the knowledge that I will be able to continue on my own the workouts that Obadiah helped me learn to love. I couldn’t be more pleased with the job Obadiah has done as my trainer, and I strongly recommend him to anyone who wants to lose weight, keep it off and change their lives in the process."

"Prior to starting a fitness-training program with Obadiah, I weighed 190 lbs. at 5'7". I had severe medical issues. my doctor urged me to lose 30lbs. in 3 months as a strategy to improve my health. Reluctantly, I joined the GYM and hired Obadiah. I did not believe that it would be possible to lose weight after trying many diets that failed.

"After two surgeries within three months I knew it would take some serious rehab to get me into the shape previously. I ran 3 to 5 miles every other day, biked around the Art Museum and marched 4 miles in parades with an up right bass fiddle. My vascular surgeon told me I could do my own rehab... After sitting down with personal trainer Obadiah and discussing my needs I thought It would be a great idea to get some personal help to achieve my goal. I figured Obadiah would put me through the circuit equipment a few times and that would be that, but to my surprise he started me on some basic exercises and stretching. I could feel almost immediately my knees stopped wobbling and with Obadiah's persistence the exercises seemed to be reaching to the core of my muscles... I always knew the importance of staying in shape and always did take pretty good are of myself. At 61 years old it not so easy to do but with Obadiah's help I feel great. I am not allowed to run for 6 months but I am already carrying the fiddle, biking and even bowling. I just wanted to express my thanks to Personal Trainer Obadiah A.
